About

We are Klima Protocol and Carbonmark. For years we've been building technology to help the carbon markets scale.

We've learned a lot. Perhaps we were too optimistic in the past about how much technology alone can solve. The carbon markets have fundamental challenges that go beyond infrastructure.

Everything we build is underpinned by a commitment to openness:

We frame our work around two problems in the carbon markets: carbon credits are hard to get, and carbon credits are hard to want.

Most of our work has focused on the first problem. We want to make access to the market easier for everyone, empowering project developers and corporate buyers alike to participate with confidence, good information, and fair execution.

But we've come to see that the second problem is harder, and arguably more important. Carbon credits are complex, and the discourse around them is fractured. That complexity has made them unwanted, even hidden. It's been called 'greenhushing'. The problem demands creativity, fresh thinking, and genuine engagement with the wider conversation.

Carbon.FYI focuses on the second problem. It aims to bring clear, useful insights to people who care about the market, to help build an understanding of what is actually happening. When the information, narratives, and trends of the market are paywalled and gatekept, how can we expect people to engage with it?
